Directed by Sam Mendes and written by husband-wife literary figures Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida, this is an episodic dramedy. The principal roles are played by TV actors John Krasinski (The Office) and Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live). Burt (Krasinski) and Verona (Rudolph), both thirtysomething, are longtime domestic partners expecting their first child. They travel around, visiting friends and family, trying to decide where they want to raise their offspring. Other actors in the movie include Allison Janney and Maggie Gyllenhaal. There are songs by Alexi Murdoch.

Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Weisz star in this glossy, lighthearted caper film written and directed by Rian Johnson (Brick). Since childhood, Bloom (Brody) and his brother Stephen (Ruffalo) have been grifters, but Bloom has tired of it and wants a normal life. Then Stephen convinces him to do one last big scam, this one on a wealthy, eccentric New Jersey heiress named Penelope (Weisz), and a series of clever, elaborate cons ensues. The movie does lots of globetrotting, including Montenegro, Prague and St. Petersburg. Rinko Kikuchi plays an explosives expert.

'Monsters vs. Aliens' DVD

This animated movie was designed to be shown theatrically in 3-D. At her wedding, Susan (voice of Reese Witherspoon) is struck by a meteorite and turns into a 50-foot woman called Ginormica. She and other creatures, such as a blob of blue goo known as B.O.B. (voice of Seth Rogen) and an amphibian-humanoid called the Missing Link (voice of Will Arnett), are conscripted into government service. When a weird extraterrestrial (voice of Rainn Wilson) invades Earth, the president (voice of Stephen Colbert) sends Ginormica and the other creatures into battle.
