Robert Redford directed this drama that strives to accurately re-create an important incident in American history. A few days after the Civil War ended, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated as part of a conspiracy that also targeted the Vice President and the Secretary of State. Several people were tried by a military tribunal, and the film focuses on one of the accused conspirators, a widow named Mary Surratt (Robin Wright) who ran a Washington, DC, boarding house. Actors appearing in the movie include James McAvoy, Kevin Kline, Tom Wilkinson and Danny Huston.
Adapted from Charlotte Brontë's classic 1847 novel, this romantic drama stars Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right) and Michael Fassbender (Fish Tank, Inglourious Basterds) and was directed by Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre). The film is mainly about the years Jane Eyre (Wasikowska) spends as governess at Thornfield, an isolated estate where eerie things occur. Jane falls in love with Thornfield's brooding owner, Edward Rochester (Fassbender), but it turns out he is harboring a secret. Other actors in the movie include Jamie Bell, Sally Hawkins and Judi Dench.
Paul Bettany stars in this movie set in a post-apocalyptic alternate reality. There has been a war between humans — whose best fighters were specially trained warrior priests — and vampires. Now humans live in dystopian walled cities ruled by the Church, while vampires have been forced into remote camps. But vampires abduct the niece of Priest (Bettany), and he and her boyfriend (Cam Gigandet) set out to track her down. Along the way, they are joined by Priestess (Maggie Q). Priest's plot is essentially that of The Searchers with the vampires playing the role of the Indians in the old Western.
Starring Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson, this wedding comedy is based on Emily Giffin's novel. Rachel (Goodwin), an attorney, and good-looking Darcy (Hudson) are longtime best friends. After a party celebrating her 30th birthday, Rachel falls into bed with Dex (Colin Egglesfield), a handsome guy she's had a crush on since law school. But Dex is engaged to Darcy, and with their wedding day fast approaching, everyone has trouble deciding what they want to do. Other characters include Rachel's platonic confidante (John Krasinski) and Dex's skirt-chasing best pal (Steve Howey).
