Horrible Bosses DVD
Length: 98 minutes
MPAA Rating: R for crude and sexual content, pervasive language and some drug material
Featuring a strong cast, this is a foul-mouthed, politically incorrect, silly comedy that was a box-office hit. Three pals (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis) toil away at unrelated jobs, but they share one thing in common: their loathsome bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston) make their lives miserable. Over drinks, the three pals decide their only hope is to kill their bosses, and after some missteps, they engage an ex-con (Jamie Foxx) as a murder consultant. The three pals embark upon preparations to commit the murders, but as criminals, they are farcically inept.

The Tree of Life DVD
Length: 139 minutes
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for some thematic material
Terrence Malick wrote and directed this poetic, enigmatic film that won the Palme d'Or at Cannes. Brad Pitt plays a major role, and Sean Penn appears in a few scenes. The key character is Jack O'Brien, played as a boy by newcomer Hunter McCracken and as a middle-aged man by Penn. The central story has Jack looking back at his boyhood in 1950s Waco, Texas, with his father (Pitt), mother (Jessica Chastain) and two brothers. One of Jack's brothers died at age 19. But intercut with this family story are non-narrative sequences depicting things like the creation of the universe and the beginning of life on Earth.
