Netflix Class-Action Lawsuit Still Not Settled

By Ivana Redwine, About.com

March 22, 2006

Many observers had expected the Netflix class-action lawsuit to be settled at a hearing held on March 22, 2006, but the judge refused to approve the proposed settlement. The main reasons are apparently (1) the judge wants to reduce attorneys’ fees, and (2) the judge is bothered that the settlement offered to a former subscriber is nearly triple the value of that offered to a current subscriber.
