Diamonds and Pearls was released previously on video in the early 1990s, so naturally the material here has a period feel, but that's also part of the fun. Spotlighting music from Diamonds and Pearls, Prince's studio album, the DVD features a mix of classic music videos and performance footage. There are brief interview clips before the beginning of each song. The videos add visual appeal, but this DVD is worth a rental, even on the basis of the music alone. The DVD has a menu that allows you to either play all the videos or select by song. Unfortunately, Diamonds and Pearls offers no special features.
