A Hard Days Night (1964) is an unpretentious, breezy, charming little musical comedy starring the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr) as themselves. Director Richard Lester created a frenetically paced faux documentary that purports to follow the Fab Four around for a day and loaded it with zany British humor. The Beatles do a dozen of their feel-good songs, including the title tune, She Loves You, Cant Buy Me Love, and All My Loving. The movie is joyous and exhilarating.
