Settlement Seemingly Near in Netflix Class-Action Lawsuit

By Ivana Redwine, About.com

February 13, 2006

Netflix appears to be close to settling a class-action lawsuit filed against it in September, 2004. The suit accused the company of falsely claiming unlimited rentals and one-day deliveries. After the suit was filed, Netflix conceded that its policy when it had a shortage of a title was to ship fastest to low-volume customers. In an attempt to settle the suit, Netflix has offered customers one month of free rentals or an upgrade.
