Owen Wilson, Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon star in this dramedy buddy movie. Carl (Dillon) and Molly (Hudson) get married and move into a suburban house. But Carl's longtime pal Randy Dupree (Wilson) gets down on his luck, and with nowhere else to go, moves in with Carl and Molly. Then Carl begins having problems at work with his boss, who is Molly's father (Michael Douglas). Meanwhile, Dupree turns out to be a very troublesome houseguest, and Carl finds his life spinning out of control.
