About the Movie We Are Marshall on DVD:
Based on a true story, this docudrama chronicles a college town's recovery of its spirit after a devastating tragedy. In 1970 an airplane crashed that was transporting the Marshall University football team back to its home in Huntington, West Virginia, killing almost all the players and coaches. Although there was initially some sentiment to suspend the program, it was soon decided the school should rebuild the team. Outsider Jack Lengyel (Matthew McConaughey) was brought in as head coach, and by the next season he was able to put a functioning team on the gridiron.
