Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) directed this action-adventure movie set 12,000 years ago. The film features a saber-toothed tiger, wooly mammoths and man-eating ratite birds. The hero is D'Leh (Steven Strait) of the Yagahl tribe. One day slave traders kidnap his beloved Evolet (Camilla Belle), and he goes on a long journey to try to rescue her. Along the way, many other people join the trek, which ends up in a city where a large pyramid is being built and Evolet is about to be sacrificed. This all leads to a climactic battle.
