Donnie Darko

Years after the release of Donnie Darko, people are still arguing over whether Frank the Rabbit was evil or some kind of savior. Whatever you believe, writer/director Richard Kelly's critically acclaimed feature film debut is certainly the first film that springs to mind when evil rabbits are mentioned.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Grown men soil their armor when they confront the killer rabbit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. To quote a character in the film, the rabbit featured in the 1979 Monty Python comedy is "the foulest, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on.”

Note: No rabbits were harmed in the making of this film. On the contrary, it seems a number of cast members were mortally wounded by the creature.

One Crazy Summer

John Cusack stars as a wannabe cartoonist who draws evil bunnies whose sole purpose is to destroy happy relationships in this 1986 romantic comedy costarring Demi Moore. Incidentally, the “cute and fuzzy bunnies” bear a strong resemblance to film critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert.

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever writer/director Eli Roth confirmed that the Bunny Man in his 2003 film is evil. "The Bunny Man is a very, very mysterious and evil creature," said Roth. "Actually the Bunny Man was very influenced by 'The Shining.' There's a scene in 'The Shining' where Shelley Duvall's running around the hotel and she sees these creepy things. There's a guy in a bear suit who is just really, really, really weird. It always stuck with me as a kid so it's kind of my little nod to 'The Shining.’"

Night of the Lepus

This campy 1972 horror flick featured a herd of giant killer rabbits. Made that way by a genetic experiment gone wrong, these bunnies love to kill humans—including Psycho star Janet Leigh and Star Trek veteran DeForest Kelley.

Looney Tunes - Back in Action

While Bugs Bunny isn't evil (mischievous yes, evil no) this 2003 effort featuring Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman was so horrible that anyone associated with it (including the film's animated stars) could justifiably be labeled evil.

The Brown Bunny

A bunny movie in name only, this self-indulgent stinker by filmmaker Vincent Gallo gives all bunnies—brown, black, white, pink, rainbow, whatever—a very bad name.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Evil in a whole different way. 1988’s smash mash-up of live-action and animation featured a sexy siren named Jessica Rabbit (voiced by Kathleen Turner) who uttered the movie's most memorable line: "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.” While not a bunny herself, Jessica was married to the film's hare-brained protagonist: Roger Rabbit.

Fatal Attraction

The award for Best Special Appearance by a Bunny goes to 1987’s Fatal Attraction. Anyone in the mood for a little rabbit stew? The bunny was sweet and innocent but fell victim to Glenn Close’s terrifying portrayal of the craziest women ever in a feature film.
