"Spider-Man 2" (2004) is the sequel to "Spider-Man" (2002), and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are back, as is director Sam Raimi. These three key people are expected to return for "Spider-Man 3," which is scheduled to be theatrically released in the summer of 2007.
In "Spider-Man 2," comic-book superhero Spider-Man (Maguire) must face a new enemy: the demonic, powerful, part-mechanical, part-human, octopus-like creature known as Doc Ock (Alfred Molina). But Spider-Man has major problems in his personal life as well.
Peter Parker, Spider-Man's alter ego, is madly in love with Mary Jane Watson (Dunst), but in "Spider-Man 2," she is about to marry another. Peter gets caught up in the throes of an identity crisis, and at one point, he decides to give up crime-fighting and throws his Spider-Man costume in the trash.
The DVD version of "Spider-Man 2" I watched was the Widescreen Special Edition, and I've listed below all its special features. Theres also a Full-Screen Special Edition version that is identical except for the aspect ratio of the feature film. In addition to those two versions, there's a four-disc gift set version: two discs are the same as the Widescreen Special Edition and the gift set items include a comic book, postcards, a portfolio of artwork, and a concept-to-screen comparison. Finally, theres a fourth DVD version of "Spider-Man 2" that features Superbit and DTS Surround Sound.
