Celebrated Italian film director Michelangelo Antonioni died at age 94 on July 30, 2007, in Rome. He directed about 33 movies, one of which, Lavventura (1960), often appears on lists of the greatest films of all time. That movie, which is challenging, tells the curious tale of the relationship that develops between a man and a woman as they search for the man's missing fiancée. But Antonioni sometimes made accessible films like the popular Blowup (1966), and one of the best of these was The Passenger (1975) with Jack Nicholson.
