A mostly Hispanic cast is featured in this comedy about a family reuniting at Christmastime. The setting is Chicago's Puerto Rican community, where Edy Rodriguez (Alfred Molina) owns a bodega and lives with his wife (Elizabeth Peña). Their three adult offspring return home for the holidays, and the family has issues to work through. One son (John Leguizamo) is married and brings his non-Latina wife (Debra Messing), while another son (Freddy Rodriquez) is just back from Iraq. Their daughter (Vanessa Ferlito) is a struggling actress, awaiting a call from her agent.
