Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan are paired in this romantic comedy. Tom (Dempsey) is a wealthy playboy who has a platonic relationship with his college pal Hannah (Monaghan). Then she meets and gets engaged to a handsome Scotsman (Kevin McKidd), causing Tom to realize he loves Hannah and wants to marry her. When Hannah breaks tradition slightly by asking Tom to function as her maid of honor, he accepts so he can pursue an agenda of sabotaging the wedding and winning her for himself.
