George Clooney directed this film, and he and Renée Zellweger are its stars. The movie is more or less in the spirit of old screwball comedies. The story is set in 1925 when college football was a big deal, but the professional version of the game was played in shabby venues before sparse crowds. Dodge Connelly (Clooney) is an aging pro player in Duluth who manages to recruit Carter Rutherford (John Krasinski), idolized as both a college player and a war hero. But Lexie Littleton (Zellweger), a Chicago newspaper reporter, begins digging into Carter's background. Selected DVD Special Features:
