About.com Rating four out of Five

By Ivana Redwine, About.com

Dateline, Featurettes, Deleted Scenes

The Breach DVD contains a few other bonus materials, the most interesting of which is the 19-minute segment from the TV program Dateline titled "The Mole" that originally aired on March 5, 2001, less than three weeks after Hanssen's arrest. Another extra is the 11-minute making-of featurette titled "Breaching the Truth" that allows you to see what Billy Ray and Eric O'Neill look like. Also, there's the seven-minute "Anatomy of a Character" about actor Chris Cooper portraying the spy Robert Hanssen.

There are eight deleted scenes on the DVD with a total running time of 12 minutes, and these can optionally be watched with audio commentary by the director and editor Jeffrey Ford. Mostly these scenes were deleted to speed up pacing, but texture was lost. Also on the DVD are two alternate scenes that run a total of six minutes, and optional audio commentary is also available for these. The alternate scenes can serve as case studies for budding filmmakers.
