Featurettes on the DVD
The DVD contains six featurettes with a total running time of about 46 minutes. "Miami Vice Undercover" (13 minutes) includes information about law enforcement personnel with undercover experience who served as advisors on the movie. "Miami & Beyond: Shooting on Location" (10 minutes) describes shooting in South Florida, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Uruguay. "Visualizing Miami Vice" (13 minutes) is about achieving the look of the film, including how a digital camera was used for its high contrast, deep focus capabilities.
There are also three behind-the-scenes featurettes that run three or four minutes each. One is about training the cast to get comfortable with the guns, another shows the camera blocking for the sequence where Farrell and Foxx are supposed to be in a Haitian hotel and the third covers outfitting a racing boat with cameras.
