Liam Neeson and Laura Linney star in the biopic "Kinsey" (2004) about American sex researcher Alfred Kinsey (1894-1956). Neeson plays the famed title character, and Linney's portrayal of his wife Clara garnered her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
The film chronicles Kinsey's career at Indiana University, including his early work with gall wasps and his controversial research into human sexual behavior. Also, the movie delves into his relationship with his puritanical father, his marriage, and his exploration of his own sexuality.
On DVD, "Kinsey" comes as a two-disc set. One disc contains the feature film, along with a full-length audio commentary by Bill Condon, who wrote and directed the movie.
The other disc contains bonus materials. One of those is the one-hour-twenty-three-minute "The Kinsey Report: Sex on Film," which is a making-of documentary that has lots of commentary by Condon, as well as some by many others in the cast and crew.
The second disc also provides 20 deleted scenes plus an alternate ending. All these can optionally be played with audio commentary by Condon.
Other bonus materials on the second disc include a three-minute gag reel, a six-and-a-half-minute featurette on an exhibit at the Kinsey Institute, and a 45-question Interactive Sex Questionnaire that is supposed to measure your tendency for sexual excitation and inhibition.
