iTunes Sells Movies Via Download on DVD Release Date

From , former About.com Guide

May 2, 2008

In the past, there has been a delay between when most movies were released on DVD and when they could be purchased via download. But that has changed now that Apple has reached agreements with 20th Century Fox, Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal, Sony, Lionsgate, Image and First Look. Through its iTunes store, Apple can sell a movie from these studios via download beginning the same day it comes out on DVD. The iTunes price for the new releases is supposed to be $14.99.
