This is a feel-good British dramedy, rather in the spirit of The Full Monty. On a Clear Day stars Peter Mullan as Frank Redmond, a 50-something Glasgow resident who gets laid off at the shipyards after working there for decades. Plagued with family problems, Redmond begins to fall into a deep depression until he gets the idea of attempting to swim the English Channel. Supported by his pals, he finds redemption in working toward this goal.
