Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman star in this low-brow, raunchy, profane comedy set in a medieval fantasy world. Thadeous (McBride), a slacker and stoner, is the younger son of the king, while the elder is the manly Fabious (Franco), who has won many battles. But the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux) abducts Fabious' fiancée Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), and Fabious and Thadeous embark upon a quest to get her back. Along the way, the brothers encounter Isabel (Portman), an accomplished warrior who has her own reasons for joining their quest.
