Robert Redford directed this drama that strives to accurately re-create an important incident in American history. A few days after the Civil War ended, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated as part of a conspiracy that also targeted the Vice President and the Secretary of State. Several people were tried by a military tribunal, and the film focuses on one of the accused conspirators, a widow named Mary Surratt (Robin Wright) who ran a Washington, DC, boarding house. Actors appearing in the movie include James McAvoy, Kevin Kline, Tom Wilkinson and Danny Huston.
