Jennifer Aniston plays the female lead in this romantic dramedy set in Seattle, but the main character is portrayed by Aaron Eckhart. He plays Burke Ryan, a man whose wife was killed in an auto accident three years ago. This prompted him to write a self-help book and put on seminars for others dealing with grief, though he doesn't actually practice what he preaches. Ryan meets the florist Eloise (Aniston), and he begins to change. A subplot involves Walter (John Carroll Lynch), an attendee at one of Ryan's seminars who is trying to work through the loss of his son.
