"Silent Running" (1971) DVD
"Silent Running" is set at some future time when Earth no
longer has any botanical specimens, but some have been preserved aboard
a space freighter. The freighter has a crew of four men, including
botanist Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern), who tends the plants under huge
domes. When the crew is ordered to destroy the domes and return home,
Lowell hijacks the freighter and sets out on a remarkable journey
accompanied by three adorable robots named Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
