"American Pie 2" DVD
"American Pie 2" is a mindless, good-natured comedy, and I had a terrific time watching the unrated version on DVD recently. It seemed even funnier than the original "American Pie." All the hilarious major cast members from the earlier film are back. This time around, Jim and his buddies have just finished their first year of college, and for the summer the sex-obsessed guys rent a lakeside house, where they are joined by the lecherous Stifler. Jim still suffers from performance anxiety, but he gets some help from band geek Michelle. There are plenty of hilarious sequences, including one where Jim applies what he believes to be a lubricant to his body, but it turns out to be glue, and he has to be taken to the hospital by his father. This is a sequel, and much of the humor revolves around jokes that spark off the original film, but I’ll admit that I laughed myself silly, so I’m not really complaining.
