MPAA Rating: PG-13 for brief sexuality
Set in the 1950s, the Polish brothers' "Northfork" is a somber film named after a Montana town about to be flooded as part of a dam project. James Woods plays one of the men trying to get the last remaining residents to leave, and Nick Nolte portrays the local priest. There's also a dying orphan (Duel Farnes) who communicates with a motley group of angels. The movie is unconventional, visually stunning, poetic, and has the tone of a requiem.
