Starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Hilary Swank, this psychological thriller was directed by Christopher Nolan ("Memento"). While Los Angeles police detective Will Dormer (Pacino) and his partner are being investigated by LAPD Internal Affairs, they travel to a remote Alaska town to help solve a murder. Working there with an enthusiastic local policewoman (Swank), Dormer comes to suspect Walter Finch (Williams), a small-time crime novelist. Then Dormer's LAPD partner is killed, and Dormer finds himself in a cat-and-mouse game with Finch. Meanwhile, Dormer has trouble sleeping, partly because the Alaskan nights are so short, but mostly because he must wrestle with difficult moral issues. Ninety-two percent of the Rotten Tomatoes critics liked "Insomnia."

MPAA Rating:
R for crude sexual content, nudity, strong language and some drug use
Crude humor abounds in this lowbrow comedy where three young men dress in women's clothing. Dave (Barry Watson), Adam (Michael Rosenbaum), and Doofer (Harland Williams) are three college boys who are thrown out of their fraternity house when they are falsely accused of stealing money. The three then dress in drag and pledge a sorority, among whose members are Leah (Melissa Sagemiller), Katie (Heather Matarazzo), and Patty (Kathryn Stockwood). As the three frat boys struggle to maintain their poses as women, Dave falls for Leah, who seems to be thinking of him as a possible lesbian lover. Meanwhile, the three young men try to figure out a way to obtain from their old frat house a security videotape which they hope will clear them of the theft charges.

MPAA Rating:
R for pervasive graphic war violence, and for language.
Directed by John Woo, this World War II military action movie stars Nicolas Cage. The story revolves around a communications scheme used by the U.S. military where Navajo Indians spoke to one another in a code version of their native language. Cage plays Joe Enders, a marine who is assigned to watch over Ben Yahzee (Adam Beach), one of the Navajo code talkers. Eventually, Enders and Yahzee are part of the American force tasked with taking the Pacific island of Saipan from the Japanese. Enders' job is to protect Yahzee, but Enders has orders to prevent the Navajo from falling into enemy hands, even if it means killing him. But the movie doesn't focus all that much on the Navajo code talkersinstead, it's primarily about carefully choreographed combat sequences.
