1.) Shadow of the Vampire (2001)
In the early 1920s, legendary German director F.W. Murnau made the classic vampire movie Nosferatu with actor Max Schreck in the role of the vampire. Shadow of the Vampire is a fictionalized account of the making of Nosferatu which postulates that Schreck was not a human playing a vampire--he really was a vampire!

2.) Psycho (1960)
This 1960 masterpiece is proof positive that Hitchcock is both the master of suspense and of horror. And in my opinion, murderous psychos don't get much more terrifying than Norman Bates.
The Collectors Edition DVD includes a censored scene, production notes, the documentary The Making of Psycho, and more. Psycho is also available on VHS.

3.) Dracula (1931)
There have been other movie adaptations of Dracula, but in my opinion nothing can top this 1931 classic starring Bela Lugosi in the title role. The movie is available on both VHS and DVD. The DVD includes film historian David J. Skal's commentary and the documentary The Road To Dracula.

4.) Young Frankenstein (1974)
Even if Halloween weren't about to roll around, who could resist Mel Brooks' hilarious spoof!
The Special Edition DVD includes Mel Brooks' commentary on a separate audio track. Young Frankenstein is also available on VHS.

5.) An American Werewolf in London (1981)
An American Werewolf in London (1981) is a chilling horror movie that is one of the smartest films ever made about werewolves. But even though the movie has many disturbing moments and ends tragically, writer-director John Landis cleverly injects lots of humor, and for good measure he throws in a love story!

6.) Boogeymen (2001)
The Boogeymen DVD contains a collection of sequences from seventeen horror movies featuring boogeymen such as Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, and Pinhead. Theres also one boogeywoman, namely Camilla in The Guardian, and theres what might be called a "boogeydoll," which is of course Chucky from the Childs Play series.
