New Videos Coming Out This Week
Here's what you need to know to plan your next trip to the video store. There are some interesting releases slated for October 2, 2001, including The Mummy Returns - Collector's Edition, Heartbreakers, and Boogeymen. Boogeymen - FlixMix

Released in plenty of time to make the rounds of Halloween parties that will be coming up soon, Boogeymen has a compilation of scenes from a variety of popular scary movies, starring some of the horror genre's favorite Boogeymen. The DVD has some interesting features, including an optional commentary track by none other than Robert Englund (best known for his role as Freddy Krueger).

Heartbreakers

Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Gene Hackman star in this cheerfully amoral comedy. Max (Weaver) and Page (Hewitt) are a mother and daughter who specialize in repeatedly running the same scam. Max entices a wealthy man to marry her, and the sexy Page lures her mothers new husband into a compromising situation. Max then receives a big divorce settlement, and mother and daughter move on to look for another sucker. But problems arise when Max chooses as her next dupe a tobacco billionaire (Hackman) and Page starts to fall in love with a bar owner (Jason Lee). And things get even more complicated for mother and daughter when one of their previous marks (Ray Liotta) unexpectedly resurfaces.

The Mummy Returns - Collector's Edition

This action/adventure movie is a sequel to the 1999 film The Mummy. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reprise their roles from the earlier movie, but ten years have passed and in the interim Rick (Fraser) and Evelyn (Weisz) have married and have an eight-year-old son Alex. In the sequel, Rick, Evelyn, and Alex are exploring ancient Egyptian ruins when they discover a gold bracelet that once belonged to the Scorpion King (The Rock), which triggers a series of adventures fraught with peril. To complicate matters further, the mummy Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) is again resurrected. Brendan Frasers comedic talents provide a few laughs, and the film features some entertaining special effects and exciting action sequences.
