"Everyone is looking for the next big hit." John Travolta returns as Chili Palmer in this sequel to "Get Shorty" (1995). "Be Cool" is based on an Elmore Leonard novel, and in the film Travolta dances with Uma Thurman, while the Rock portrays a gay bodyguard. Chili used to be a mobster, then became a movie producer, and now is trying to get into the music business. But Chili's transition turns out to be rough going, as he runs into characters played by Vince Vaughn, Harvey Keitel, and Cedric the Entertainer. Selected

Kevin Spacey directed, co-wrote, and stars in this biopic about Bobby Darin. The film chronicles Darin's childhood and his success as a pop singer with hits like "Mack the Knife" and "Beyond the Sea," and Spacey's singing is very evocative. But the movie goes on to trace Darin's failed marriage to actress Sandra Dee (Kate Bosworth), his fading popularity, and his attempt to become more of a folk singer. Darin died of heart trouble in 1973 at age 37. Selected

This horror movie is the fifth in a series about Chucky, the killer doll, that began with "Child's Play" (1988). Chucky is voiced by Brad Dourif, and Chucky's wife Tiffany is voiced by Jennifer Tilly. Chucky and Tiffany have an offspring of indeterminate gender known as Glen or Glenda (voice of Billy Boyd). Tilly also plays a version of herself making a horror movie, and she tries to persuade rapper Redman to let her play the Virgin Mary in a film he's preparing. Selected
