Falls,"
"Treasure
Planet,"
and "Two
Weeks Notice."

"Darkness
Falls" (2003) Special Edition

This horror movie is set in a New England town named Darkness Falls that is haunted by the ghost of Matilda Dixon. Matilda, whose face had been disfigured by fire, was hanged by townspeople 150 years ago for the murder of two missing children who were later discovered unharmed. Since then, when a child in Darkness Falls loses his or her last baby tooth, Matilda returns to collect it, and if anyone looks upon her disfigured face, she kills them. Twelve years ago, Kyle (Chaney Kley) had just lost his last baby tooth when Matilda killed his mother. Now a young adult, Kyle returns to Darkness Falls at the request of his former girlfriend Caitland (Emma Caulfield), whose kid brother Michael (Lee Cormie) is terrified. Kyle, Caitland, and Michael struggle to deal with Matilda's avenging ghost.

This Disney animated movie is a sci-fi version of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island." Jim Hawkins (speaking voice of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, singing voice of John Rzeznik) is a boy who lives on a distant planet with his single mother. Jim happens to come into possession of a map showing the way to a planet containing treasures from thousands of worlds. Accompanied by Dr. Doppler (voice of David Hyde Pierce), Jim sets out on a spaceship called the RLS Legacy, commanded by Captain Amelia (voice of Emma Thompson). Aboard the spaceship, Jim becomes friendly with the cook, John Silver (voice of Brian Murphy). As Jim tries to locate and claim the treasure, he has many adventures, including a storm, mutiny, and pirates. As a result of his journey, Jim begins to grow into a fine young man.

Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant star in this lightweight romantic comedy. Bullock plays Lucy Kelson, a Harvard Law School graduate who lives in Brooklyn and devotes herself to liberal causes, such as the preservation of landmark buildings. Grant plays George Wade, a wealthy playboy and New York real estate developer. During the course of Lucy's battle to save a community center from demolition, she meets George. Not only does George promise not to tear down the community center, he convinces Lucy to come to work for him. But George and Lucy have an uncomfortable employer-employee relationship, and eventually she gives him her two weeks notice. As Lucy's departure date approaches, she and George both begin to wonder if going their separate ways is the right thing to do.
