This drama is based on true stories of drug dealers in 1980s Harlem. The central character is Ace (Wood Harris), an ordinary guy who delivers dry cleaning. But Ace sees how well drug dealers are living, particularly his friend Mitch (Mekhi Pfifer). Then Ace happens to come into possession of some cocaine, which he sells easily, marking his entry into a lucrative business. From this modest beginning, Ace gradually becomes a rich, big-time dealer by taking over the territories of dealers who die or go to prison. While Ace's friend Mitch is doing jail time, he meets an ambitious inmate named Rico (Cam'ron). After Mitch and Rico are released, they return to drug dealing in Harlem, and the money keeps pouring in. But Ace has chosen to live dangerously, leading to tragic consequences.
