There are some interesting video/DVD releases slated for next week, including "Camp," "Matchstick Men," "The Missing," "Pieces of April," and "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over." Let's take a look at these movies on DVD and video, along with some additional releases of interest.

"Camp"

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for mature thematic elements regarding teen sexual issues, and some language

This low-budget musical is about teenagers at a summer performing arts camp. The movie is clumsy, but the exuberance of the unknown youngsters in the cast is a big plus. The film is warmhearted and passionate, and there are some laughs and a number of reasonably entertaining performances of show tunes. If you enjoy musical theater and can look past the story, you'll have a good time; otherwise, you'll probably hate this movie.

    "Matchstick Men"

    MPAA Rating: PG-13 for thematic elements, violence, some sexual content and language

    Nicolas Cage stars in this drama directed by Ridley Scott. Cage plays Roy Waller, a clever con man who works scams with a partner (Sam Rockwell). But Roy doesn't function well without medication to control his psychological problems, and through a psychiatrist, he discovers he has a teenage daughter (Alison Lohman) he never knew about. When Roy's daughter begins to participate in the cons, he must rethink his whole way of life.

    "The Missing"

    MPAA Rating: R for violence

    Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett and directed by Ron Howard, this family drama is set in 1880s New Mexico. Maggie Gilkeson (Blanchett) is raising her two daughters on a farm when her teenager Lilly (Evan Rachel Wood) is kidnapped by renegade Apaches. Maggie's estranged father (Jones) leads Maggie and her younger daughter on a quest to rescue Lilly before she is taken to Mexico and sold into slavery.

    "Pieces of April"

     DVD

    Length: 81 minutes
    MPAA Rating: PG-13 for language, sensuality, drug content and images of nudity

    In this endearing little comedy, Katie Holmes portrays April Burns, a young woman who invites her family to her place for Thanksgiving dinner. April, who lives with her boyfriend (Derek Luke) in the Lower East Village, knows this may be the last Thanksgiving for her terminally ill mom (Patricia Clarkson). But even as her mom, dad, siblings, and grandmother drive in from the suburbs, April must deal with the fact that her oven won't work.

    "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over"

    Length: 84 minutes
    MPAA Rating: PG for action sequences and peril

    This is the third movie in the series that began with "Spy Kids" (2001) and "Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams" (2002). Viewers donned special glasses to watch "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" on the big screen. The story involves agents Juni and Carmen Cortez (Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega) journeying into the virtual world of a video game. The kids' mission is to stop the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone) from taking over the youth of the world.
