January 28 - Video and DVD Releases

Tagline:
"Some friendships last forever ... like it or not."
Length:
97 minutes
MPAA Rating: R for language, sexual content and some drug use
Goldie Hawn, Susan Sarandon, and Geoffrey Rush star in this comedy. Hawn plays Suzette, a middle-aged L.A. bartender. When she was younger, Suzette was a rock band groupie, and over the years she has maintained a free-spirited lifestyle. When Suzette gets fired, she sets out to visit her old friend Lavinia (Sarandon), who was once her fellow groupie. In fact, Suzette and Lavinia used to be known to rock musicians as the Banger Sisters. But now Lavinia lives a stiflingly respectable life in Phoenix with her attorney husband and two daughters. Suzette is broke, so she gives a ride to a depressed screenwriter named Harry (Rush) in exchange for gas money. Eventually, the irrepressible Suzette is able to restore some much-needed emotional balance to the lives of both Lavinia and Harry.

"The
Master of Disguise" (2002)

Tagline:
"He can get into any disguise ... getting out is another story."
Length:
80 minutes
MPAA Rating:
PG for mild language and some crude humor
Aimed at kids, this comedy is built around the ability of Dana Carvey (from
TV's "Saturday Night Live") to do impersonations. Carvey plays Pistachio
Disguisey, a waiter at the restaurant owned by his father (James Brolin).
When Pistachio's parents are kidnapped by the evil Bowman (Brent Spiner),
it's revealed that Pistachio's father was formerly a master of disguise who
was responsible for Bowman being sent to prison. Pistachio's grandfather (Harold
Gould), himself a master of disguise, gives Pistachio a crash course in the
craft of disguises. Then, accompanied by a woman (Jennifer Esposito), Pistachio
sets out to rescue his parents, using a lot of disguises along the way. Be
advised that 99 percent of the Rotten Tomatoes critics gave "The Master
of Disguise" a negative review.

"The one thing that could bring them together is revenge."
Length:
99 minutes
MPAA Rating:
PG-13 for crude humor, sexual content and language
Matthew Perry and Elizabeth Hurley star in this comedy. Perry plays Joe Tyler, a process server who gets caught up in the divorce between Sara Moore (Hurley) and her boorish, but extremely wealthy, husband Gordon. Because Sara is a New York resident while Gordon resides in Texas, the divorce settlement she receives will be much larger if she can get the legal proceedings started before her husband does. This motivates Sara to offer Joe a million dollars if he can serve her divorce papers on Gordon before she is served with her husband's papers. There are lots of shenanigans as Joe tries to serve the papers on Gordon while Sara tries to avoid having papers served on her, and romance buds between Joe and Sara. Ninety-four percent of the Rotten Tomatoes critics didn't like "Serving Sara."
