"Catwoman"

Halle Berry plays the title character in this action fantasy. Patience Phillips (Berry) is working on ads for a big cosmetics company when she learns their new beauty product has devastating side effects. The company has her killed, but a mysterious cat resurrects her with feline superpowers. While having a romance with a cop (Benjamin Bratt), Patience tries to set things right at the company, where a character portrayed by Sharon Stone plays a key role.

"Cellular"

Length: 94 minutes
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for violence, terror situations, language and some sexual references

This suspense thriller revolves around the cellphone. Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger) is kidnapped and imprisoned in an attic. The crooks smash the old attic phone, but she manages to place a single, random call on it. Her call reaches the cellphone of a college-age kid named Ryan (Chris Evans), who doggedly races around L.A.'s West Side in an attempt to help Jessica. Also in the movie are William H. Macy as a cop and Jason Statham as a bad guy.

"The Forgotten"

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense thematic material, some violence and brief language

Julianne Moore stars in this suspense thriller. Telly Paretta (Moore) is a mother who is mourning the death of her young son Sam in a plane crash. Then all records of Sam vanish, and her psychiatrist (Gary Sinise) tells her she never had a son. When her husband and others agree, Telly is beset with self-doubt. But she teams up with another grieving parent (Dominic West) to seek the truth, even as she is trailed by the National Security Agency.

"Friday Night Lights"

Tagline: "Hope comes alive on Friday nights."

Length: 117 minutes
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for thematic issues, sexual content, language, some teen drinking and rough sports action.

Based on the nonfiction book by H.G. Bissinger, this sports drama is set in 1988 Odessa, Texas, where the inhabitants eat, sleep, and breathe high school football. The main character is Coach Gaines (Billy Bob Thornton), who knows he and his family will be moving on if he doesn't guide the team to gridiron glory. The movie follows the team's vicissitudes as it marches toward the state championship. But the film's strength is its strong sense of place.
