"Deliver Us From Eva" (2003)

Gabrielle Union and LL Cool J star in this good-natured romantic comedy where the main characters are middle-class African-Americans living somewhere in California. Eva (Gabrielle Union) is a beautiful, energetic, capable unmarried woman who is also sharp-tongued and often overbearing. When her parents died, she raised her three younger sisters, and even though they've become adults, she still bosses them around. When Eva's brothers-in-law get fed up with her putting them down, they pay Ray (LL Cool J) $5,000 to woo her in the hope she will fall for him and mellow out. Ray puts the moves on Eva and the plan seems to be working, but there's an unexpected complication: Ray starts to fall for Eva, and he worries about what will happen if she finds out about the $5,000.

"Just Married" (2003)

Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy are paired in this romantic comedy where young newlyweds go on a disastrous European honeymoon. Tom Leezak (Kutcher) is a radio traffic reporter. He's a lowbrow guy who went to a community college and loves sports. Sarah McNerney (Murphy) comes from a wealthy family. She's a highbrow gal who went to an expensive private college and loves art. But Tom and Sarah fall in love, get married, and head for a honeymoon in Europe. On the flight over, they try to have sex in an airplane restroom, but encounter insurmountable difficulties. In France, their vibrator damages a hotel's electrical system, and in Venice, they knock out a wall. While Sarah visits museums, Tom goes to bars. Also, Sarah's ex-boyfriend surfaces and may be pursuing her.

"Narc" (2003)

This grim movie about Detroit narcotics detectives stars Jason Patric and Ray Liotta. Nick Tellis (Patric) is an intense young cop who is suspended when he shoots a pregnant woman during a police chase that goes awry. Eighteen months later, Nick is assigned to work with veteran detective Henry Oak (Liotta). Oak's partner has been murdered, and Nick's contacts in the drug world are expected to help in breaking the case. Nick soon realizes that Oak doesn't go by the book as he watches the older man beat up lowlifes and torture a snitch. Not only does Nick come to have doubts about the guilt of some suspects, he eventually feels that something about Oak may be the key to solving the murder. As the investigation proceeds, Nick must decide who and what to believe.
