"American
Splendor" Movie Trailer
This offbeat film was well-liked at Sundance and Cannes and got favorable
reviews from 96 percent of the Rotten Tomatoes critics. The movie is an
unconventional biopic about cranky Harvey Pekar (Paul Giamatti), file
clerk at a Cleveland V.A. hospital and comic book writer. The film chronicles
Harvey's appearances on Letterman, his marriage to Joyce Brabner (Hope
Davis), and how a surrogate daughter comes into his and Joyce's lives.
"The
Fighting Temptations"
Movie Trailer
Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyoncé Knowles star in this comedy with music.
Darrin Hill (Gooding) gets fired from his New York advertising job, then
inherits $150,000 when his aunt dies in his Georgia hometown. But her
will stipulates that to get the money, he must take a church choir to
the Gospel Explosion competition. He teams up with childhood friend Lilly
(Knowles), and they struggle to get the choir ready, falling in love along
the way.
"Lost
In Translation" Movie Trailer
Written and
directed by Sofia Coppola, this is a movie both sad and funny that features
fine performances by Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson. The story is
about two lonely Americans visiting TokyoBob (Murray), a middle-aged
actor making whiskey commercials, and Charlotte (Johannson), the young
wife of a photographer who's always off working. The charm of the film
lies in its subtle handling of an unusual friendship.

Boss's Daughter"
Movie Trailer
Ashton Kutcher and Tara Reid star in this comedy. Tom (Kutcher), a publishing
house employee, has a crush on Lisa (Reid), the daughter of his tyrannical
boss. She talks Tom into housesitting at her father's, and everything
spins wildly out of control, including Tom's boss's beloved pet owl taking
off on a cocaine-fueled outdoor flight. Tom fears losing his job, even
as amidst the chaos he tries to talk to Lisa about his feelings for her.

Lions"
Movie Trailer
Michael Caine, Robert Duvall, and Haley Joel Osment star in this coming-of-age
movie. The story takes place in 1960s rural Texas, where 14-year-old Walter
(Osment) is dumped by his single mom to spend the summer with his eccentric
great-uncles Garth (Caine) and Hub (Duvall). But it turns out Walter has
a good time and grows up a little as the two old coots tell tall tales.
Meanwhile, the boy befriends an aging circus lion the uncles buy.
"Under
the Tuscan Sun" Movie Trailer
Inspired by the bestselling memoir by Frances Mayes, this drama features
a winning performance by Diane Lane and charming locations in Italy.
After an unpleasant divorce, San Francisco writer Frances Mayes (Lane)
tours Italy and on impulse buys a 300-year-old villa there. As she slowly
restores the villa, she encounters some colorful people, rediscovers
the pleasures of romantic relationships with men, and gradually rebuilds
her shattered life.

"In
the Cut" Movie Trailer
Meg Ryan does nude scenes in this grim erotic thriller that reflects the
sensibilities of writer-director Jane Campion and novelist Susanna Moore.
NYPD homicide detective Malloy (Mark Ruffalo) is investigating a murder
when he meets writing teacher Frannie (Ryan), and they begin a steamy love
affair. As the serial murders continue in her Lower Manhattan neighborhood,
Frannie begins to wonder if Malloy could be the killer.
"Intolerable
Cruelty" Movie Trailer
George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones are paired in this Coen Brothers
screwball comedy. Miles Massey (Clooney) is a big-time attorney who represents
the wealthy husband of Marylin Rexroth (Zeta-Jones) in their divorce.
Miles wins, leaving Marylin with nothing, but he becomes smitten with
her. Then she sets out to get even with him by embarking on a scheme that
involves a new tycoon boyfriend, and the battle of the sexes is on.
"Sylvia"
Movie Trailer
Gwyneth Paltrow plays the title role in this biopic about American poet
Sylvia Plath, who committed suicide in 1963 at age 30. The film opens
in 1956, around the time Plath meets English poet Ted Hughes (Daniel Craig).
They soon marry and eventually have two children. Hughes' literary recognition
comes earlier than Plath's, and she suspects he is having an affair. Plath's
mother is portrayed by Paltrow's mother, Blythe Danner.

"Dickie
Roberts: Former Child Star" Movie Trailer
This comedy stars David Spade as Dickie Roberts, a 30-something parking
valet whose acting career stalled after his childhood stint as a character
in a 1970s TV sitcom. He gets a shot at a movie, but the director worries
that Dickie knows so little about ordinary everyday life that he won't
be able to handle the role. That's when he hires a family to teach him
what it's like to grow up in a normal household, leading to a number of
complications.
"Mambo
Italiano" Movie Trailer
This ethnic and gay-themed comedy is set in an Italian neighborhood of
Montreal. Angelo Barberini (Luke Kirby) is an unmarried young adult who
decides the time has come to move out of the home of his conservative
parents. Then Angelo's friend Nino, a cop, moves in with him, and for
a while the two men conceal the fact that they are lovers. But eventually
the truth comes out, and there's a messy period of adjustment for all
concerned.
"Runaway
Jury" Movie Trailer
John Cusack, Gene Hackman, and Dustin Hoffman star in this courtroom drama
based on a John Grisham novel. A widow whose husband was killed with a
gun sues the firearm manufacturer, setting up a conflict involving a juror
(Cusack), defendant's jury consultant (Hackman), and plaintiff's attorney
(Hoffman). Things take a strange turn when the litigants on both sides
of the case are informed that the jury is for sale to the highest bidder.

"Camp"
Movie Trailer
This low-budget musical is about teenagers at a summer performing arts
camp. The movie is clumsy, but the exuberance of the unknown youngsters
in the cast is a big plus. The film is warmhearted and passionate, and
there are some laughs and a number of reasonably entertaining performances
of show tunes. If you enjoy musical theater and can look past the story,
you'll have a good time; otherwise, you'll probably hate this movie.
"Matchstick
Men" Movie Trailer
Nicolas Cage stars in this drama directed by Ridley Scott. Cage plays
Roy Waller, a clever con man who works scams with a partner (Sam Rockwell).
But Roy doesn't function well without medication to control his psychological
problems, and through a psychiatrist, he discovers he has a teenage daughter
(Alison Lohman) he never knew about. When Roy's daughter begins to participate
in the cons, he must rethink his whole way of life.
"The
Missing" Movie Trailer
Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett and directed by Ron Howard,
this family drama is set in 1880s New Mexico. Maggie Gilkeson (Blanchett)
is raising her two daughters on a farm when her teenager Lilly (Evan Rachel
Wood) is kidnapped by renegade Apaches. Maggie's estranged father (Jones)
leads Maggie and her younger daughter on a quest to rescue Lilly before
she is taken to Mexico and sold into slavery.

of April" Movie Trailer
In this endearing little comedy, Katie Holmes portrays April Burns, a
young woman who invites her family to her place for Thanksgiving dinner.
April, who lives with her boyfriend (Derek Luke) in the Lower East Village,
knows this may be the last Thanksgiving for her terminally ill mom (Patricia
Clarkson). But even as her mom, dad, siblings, and grandmother drive in
from the suburbs, April must deal with the fact that her oven won't work.
"Spy
Kids 3-D: Game Over" Movie Trailer
This is the third movie in the series that began with "Spy Kids"
(2001) and "Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams" (2002). Viewers
donned special glasses to watch "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" on
the big screen. The story involves agents Juni and Carmen Cortez (Daryl
Sabara and Alexa Vega) journeying into the virtual world of a video game.
The kids' mission is to stop the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone) from taking
over the youth of the world.
