Guide Review - "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" Two-Disc DVD Set

The story is about a 10-year-old suburban boy named Elliott who finds an extra-terrestrial being who has been accidentally left behind by his spaceship. Elliott lets his older brother and younger sister in on his discovery, which they start to refer to as E.T. The kids instinctively realize that they must keep E.T. hidden and try to help him return home. I love this heartwarming, cinematic, and highly entertaining film, and I never fully appreciated it until I watched it on DVD. I thought that, with its improved special effects and remastered sound track, the 2002 update looks and sounds as good as any contemporary movie. The updated version also contains a cute new scene of E.T. enjoying himself in a bathtub.
