Guide Review - "The X-Files - The Complete Seventh Season" DVD Review
Interesting characters, an evocative mix of horror, sci-fi, and film noir, along with a sharp, moody cinematic sense thats rare for an episodic television series make for a thoroughly enjoyable DVD collection. Some fans were disappointed in season seven, but I found this six-disc DVD set well worth watching. Although the languorous pace of some episodes may try the patience of some, I thought the strengths that made this series a cult phenomenon were still clearly present. The excellent picture quality of the DVDs added to my appreciation of this visually imaginative series. This was David Duchovny's last full season on "The X-Files," and his charismatic presence adds to the appeal of the seventh seasons episodes.
