Guide Review - "Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Third Season" (1999) DVDs

I enjoyed the entertaining mix of horror, comedy, and drama in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Third Season" and expect fans of this popular TV show to like the DVDs even better than I did. In season three, Buffy re-enters Sunnydale high and copes with returning to her old life there. The third season finishes with an exciting two-part finale revolving around Sunnydale’s mayor’s diabolical plans for the high school’s graduation day. The plotlines involve the stuff of macabre escapist fantasy such as vampires and demons. But I found it dramatically effective that the problems faced by the characters sometimes echo the kind of emotional problems teenagers often face in real life.
