Guide Review - "Angel Season One" Six-Disc DVD Set
Although it never drew me in completely, "Angel Season One" on DVD did pleasantly surprise me. Spinoffs scare me. They often are disappointing because they fail to live up to the quality of the show that originally sparked their story and characters. Although it is a spinoff of the popular "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" television series, I found that I enjoyed "Angel Season One" on DVD just as much as I enjoyed "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." I also liked the film-noir feel of "Angel," along with the show's entertaining mix of horror, action, and drama. I had a lot of fun watching the DVDs, and I suspect that fans of both "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" will enjoy this DVD set even more than I did.
