“The Rookie” DVD
I was surprised how much this film about a Texas high school baseball coach moved me. Although schmaltzy at times, this was one of the best family-oriented movies I’ve seen in a many years.

"Monsters, Inc." DVD
I think young children will generally like Monsters, Inc. a lot, and there's enough humor aimed at grownups that I think most adults won't mind watching it with a kid.
