Guide Review - "Big Fat Liar" DVD
I really enjoyed Big Fat Liar on DVD, a good-hearted comedy aimed at kids that most adults won't mind watching. I thought that the young actors Frankie Muniz and Amanda Bynes were delightfully charismatic. The story is a revenge comedy revolving around a Michigan eighth-grader named Jason (Muniz) who is a habitual fibber. When Jason writes an essay called "Big Fat Liar" for a class assignment, he encounters a Hollywood producer named Marty Wolf (Giamatti), who steals the story. Jason and his friend Kaylee (Bynes) travel to Tinseltown to confront Wolf. I thought this movie was laugh-out loud funny throughout, and I enjoyed the lighthearted, satirical look the movie took at Hollywood, along with the perils of lying.
