Guide Review - "Barbershop" DVD Review
Barbershop is a funny, warmhearted, ensemble comedy that centers around a Chicago barbershop where seven barbers worksix are African American (five men, one woman) and the seventh is a white male. All seven barbers face problems that are solved in the course of one long day. I really liked the dialogue in Barbershop, and for me the lively talk inside the shop is the best thing about the film. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how slick the movie looks. I think the casting, acting, and mix of characters in the movie are terrific, and I particularly enjoyed the performance of Cedric the Entertainer in the role of a pontificating old barber.
