Katharine Hepburn: 1907-2003

By Ivana Redwine, About.com

Screen legend Katharine Hepburn is no longer with us, but she will live on in my memory through her performances in many wonderful films. I always admired the way her screen persona projected an image of a woman who was beautiful, strong, intelligent, self-assured, and naturally independent.

Here are just a few of my favorite Katharine Hepburn movies that immediately come to mind: “Stage Door” (1937), “Bringing Up Baby” (1938), “The Philadelphia Story” (1940), “Adam's Rib” (1949), “The African Queen” (1951), “Summertime” (1955), “Desk Set” (1957), “Guess Who's Coming to Dinner” (1967), “The Lion in Winter” (1968), and “On Golden Pond” (1981).

You can find her complete filmography on the Internet Movie Database.
