Consumers Taking It Slow in Migrating to Hi-Def Optical Discs

In what seems an instance of common sense prevailing, people are not rushing to HD DVD or Blu-ray. According to the NPD Group, the majority of HDTV owners are satisfied with the way their traditional DVD player works, although it is unclear what percentage of those in the survey were using screens bigger than 35 inches. However, as more consumers purchase TV sets with larger screens, this situation could change. In any case, the format war between HD DVD and Blu-ray has not yet been definitively resolved.
