Blockbuster Testing No-Late-Fee Model
Friday July 11, 2003
Someone pointed out an interesting news item on the Web to me today about Blockbuster testing a no-late-fee model similar to that used by Netflix.
I think that, even in business, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and this is something that could work out very well for Blockbuster and for some of their customers. That is, if it is done right. Only time will tell exactly how well it works out, but it should be an interesting experiment. Of course, whether or not this approach to renting videos and DVDs is of any value to you depends on how often you rent and how frequently you return your rentals late.
You can get the full details from this “Studio Briefing” story on the IMDb. And, when you’re done reading this news item, why not discuss your thoughts about it on the About Home Video/DVD forum.
